Impractical Directions (2018)

Impractical Directions: a guide to the XIVe comprises sixteen cryptic sets of walking directions, describing common routes taken by the author when she lived in the Rue du Commandant René-Mouchotte in Paris from September 2014 to June 2015. The directions were handwritten with a Uni-ball Vision Elite roller ball pen [micro 0.5mm] on Mohawk Superfine. A laser-printed reproduction of a pencil drawing of the artist’s living quarters at that location unfolds from the back of the book.

The book is bound with unwaxed linen thread in a three-hole pamphlet stitch with the knot on the exterior, hidden by a folded cover made of black cardstock.
